America is always changing. The things we wear, the people we talk about, the way we view America today. What define me are my family, my puppy, and the way I live my life. But, I think the things that really change my life are the people I met. I believe that you meet everyone you’ve ever met in your life, for a reason, for a sole purpose in your life. No matter if they are in my life for one year, or 17, I think my life has been changed in some way. American identity is changing dramatically and will continue too for a long time due to the fact that immigrants are still coming here each and every day.
America is a diverse and innovational country that is what makes America the best country on Earth. The beauty of America is that no two people are the same. The American Dream may have been changed and altered with the issuance of new technology, but the American Identity has not changed very much at all. America was built upon the idea that every American work and pay his way in the country and is not just given free handouts. The American Identity is still embodied by the Middle Class worker, with a wife and three children, who works 8 hour shifts to support his family. The American Identity has not been shifted away from the American Dream and every worker still pushes to earn their keep. Everyone works to find a nice home to live in, a stable job, and a nice neighborhood to raise a family. Americans still plan to, and always have planned to, work their way to retirement and to not accept any free handouts.
There are two things in life that I value over everything: motivation and inspiration. Growing up as a dance team member, I can't imagine what it's like trying to achieve your goals without having a role model to look up to. The relationships that I have made with people in my local dance community have really defined me as a person. I have learned to look up to many alumni from my studio and befriend them. They truly helped me get through some of the hardest times in my life and helped me to overcome challenges that I could not face alone. Most importantly, they inspired me to be more like them. I now reach out to students who are younger than me and help them just like my role models helped me. Even though I am still working to improve myself, I love to help kids that feel that they need someone else to help them out. My relationships with these people have truly made me who I am today. A few kind words can make anyone’s day, so I encourage everyone to pass it on.
There are many ways in which I may define myself as human being throughout my life. The shade of my skin doesn’t define me and who I am. I grew up here on long island and can consider myself a long islander. The accent in my words doesn’t define me in long island, but in other states words I say like, “water” has a different accent. The ways us long islanders pronounce it is way from the rest of the country. People realize it and consider me a long islander. My family is part Arab and Spanish which separates me from many individuals. Not many people are partially Arab. I’m born to be a male who takes care of the masculine tasks and activities a basic everyday guy would do like outdoor choirs. The relationships I have are the ones who are people I get along with and have a good time with and enjoy ourselves. America changes its identity overtime with appearance and personality. People change their hair styles and clothing brands and every style to adjust to the changes in time. I change myself to match who I am and what I feel and what I’m comfortable with.
America is constantly changing but other than growing up I’m not changing very much. The things that I think define are the things that I think about constantly for example, where I came from. I didn’t come from a wealthy family. The place that I came from wasn’t wealthy at all either. My heritage and culture can sometimes play a role in defining me. They also explain the color of my skin even though I’m not that dark, I’m still Dominican, Puerto-Rican and Chilean. I think everything we do defines us such as; all the choices we make on a daily basis define us. I have many friends throughout the years and I have lost many friends over the years. I’ve moved around a bit since I was born but I only really remember two times that I moved. I moved from queens to Brentwood, long island and then from Brentwood to Nesconset. I’ve been told that I have an accent sometimes when I talk really fast of when I get really mad the same is true for my mother also. Most people say that I have the personality of my mother; her outgoing personality and her loudness when she talks but I’ve also been told I am very stubborn and driven like my father. I classify these things that are the many things that define me. I am me and I wouldn’t want to be anyone else.
Each person has a different belief of what makes them who they are. I personally believe that there isn’t just one aspect that makes you you but instead it’s little bit of everything. The most important things in my life and my top priorities help make up who I am. My family, friends, background, dance, lifestyle, puppy, motivation, and so much more make up the person I am. But the people we meet impact us the most. Every person who walks into our lives, and even walk out, change who we are and have some sort of influence on us. Some people have more of an effect than others but all these interactions are extremely important. America is changing and so are the people in it. Everyone is growing up and being influenced by all sorts of things. It’s important though to realize who you are and to not let society to pressure you to change.
Americans nowadays are often defined with a negative connotation. From the outside looking in, Americans are known, simply, as stupid and obese. Technology has become such a huge aspect of our life, it is replacing studies and exercise in our daily routine. It is up to our generation to get America back to the way it should be: intelligent, in shape, and genuine.
There are a lot that defines me. I have dark hair and olive skin, and deep brown eyes that most people can’t even find my pupil. I am loud, even when I try my hardest not to be, and my roaring laugh can echo for hours. But, my physical qualities do not define me. I am a very ambitious person and have set many goals in my life. I believe that the people I have met, for better or worse, have shaped me as the person I am today. My past has taught me many valuable lessons about the people I should let be a part of my future. America is always changing. American identity will continue to change and people will contiue to stop being unique and follow in the paths of others.
What defines Americans is how they act, how they dress, and where they come from. Americans desire in style is constantly changing. Everyday a new clothing item or a new piece of technology comes out that everyone has to have. Everything is constantly changing, whether its religion, clothes of technology.
As an American we can all be defined as diverse because we all have different backgrounds, but have the similarity of being united in America. Everyday new people join America from different backgrounds and everyday other diverse people leave our country. The ever-changing American identity is constantly being altered based on who comes into our country and who leaves. People from all around the world travel to the United States to find freedom and to live a better life. We are called the melting pot because we represent people from many countries all over the world. People are not only defined by just their backgrounds but also by where they are today, and where they will be in ten years. This is why it is never too late to make a positive change in your life. America should be defined as hardworking people who come together under freedom to receive the rights they deserve.
The question of what defines you is a tricky one to answer. I think what defines a person is in the way they live there life. If you’re a happy person that treats others how they want to be treated I think that’s what defines you. Your personality is one of the most defining characteristics because that’s what most people get to see first. I think a contributing factor is the place you grow up and your family. These people shape who you are and what person you become to be. This leads to the constant change of Americans and their ideas. This is what makes America so special and so unique. This is why no two people in America are alike were all unique in our own way.
Being the melting pot we are, America has always been a haven for people of all colors, all nationalites, and all religions. I think our freedoms have enticed people from all over to discover what democracy can do for people. Personally, i believe my religion, and the way I act is what describes me. In America its not necessarily your skin color or ethnicity but its how one is in the present. Every action one takes and every choice one decides are the factors in which makes up one's identity.
I believe that no two people are alike and that everyone is defined in their own unique ways. There are so many ways to identify a person other than finger prints and DNA. Most of the time people have reasons for the way they act and some of those reasons deal with background, history or pasts. I think the best way to describe a person is their personality. Everybody has their own personality whether it's shy, selfish, outgoing, or funny, that is the way they choose to look at themselves. Another way to identify a person is their appearance. Although I believe in not judging a book by its cover, everyone has their own sense of style and personality that they choose to wear and that alone can tell a lot about a person. Those who tend to look on the nicer side and dress nicer than others most likely care more than those who choose not to even touch their appearance. Those who are more on the fit side tend to be stronger, physically and mentally. Everyone is different in their own ways and everyone shows their differences in unique ways as well.
I don’t really know what to write about, there is a lot that defines me as a person. I believe that as America changes I will change and the people around me will change. As we grow older so does America and the things we thought were cool before now aren’t and the people we looked up to might be losers now. But family will always be family and each day will end the same way with the sun going down and falling asleep in my bed.
There are many things that define me but it’s not the shade of my skin or the place I grew up. I have to say that I am defined by the decisions I have made throughout my life and also the decisions by others that have changed mine. I don’t have many specific things that define me. But one of things that defines me the most is my family.
If I had to pick one thing that specifically defines me, it would be my family. All the decisions I've made throughout my life, they have been there to stand by my side and encourage me to keep moving forward. Without them, I really wouldn't be anywhere. Being surrounded by unconditional love has gotten me through some of the hardest times I faced. For me, I live by the quote "Family comes First."
As Americans we are able to be whoever we want to be. There are so many opportunities for us to follow our dreams and create the life that we imagine. American culture is always changing based on society. I believe that the people I have meet throughout my life and the lessons I have learned are what defines me most as a person. I have visited different places around the world and I have seen others cultures and meet people who have a view of the world than me. Seeing people live a different way then I do, has influenced the way I am as a person and in the way I want to live. I believe that especially in America we are able to all have different ideas and believe in whatever we want.
The ever-changing American identity. From fashion, to technology, to weather, the world we live in is always changing. The people that surround us are diverse, unique individuals in this crazy world. If I had to pick a couple things that defines my life, it would be my family, friends, and dance. What makes me who I am is the fact that no other being lives the life that I live. We are all different in our own special way, and that’s what I value most; my individuality.
None of my physical attributes play an important role in defining me as a person. Physical attributes can always change over time, but my personality, life experiences, and attitude will be there for the rest of my life. The people I meet and those who have an effect on me define me as a person today. My parents and family have had a major effect of what defines me. I was exposed to compassion and happiness during my childhood making me a very caring, light hearted person. I couldn’t thank my parents enough for first showing me the amazing genre of rock music when I was younger. This has definitely defined me as a person today shaping my unique personality. My life experiences also well define me. From when I was a little kid to being a 17 year old now, I have had many experiences and there is much more to come when I enter the college system. I learn from my experiences whether it is something that I did right or something that I did wrong. Everyone has different aspects that define them as people. America is a very diverse country compared the other countries in the world. There are so many cultures that are present in America because different religions or cultures are accepted. Everyone is pretty much different based on where they from, their moral values, or their skin color . People have the right to express themselves in so many ways like dressing how they want, music, writing. The options are endless. Freedom in American lets people have many ways to define themselves.
The increasing span of technology throughout America today is resulting in a mass result of obesity and stupidity. Obesity has become a major issue in our country today, but the shadow behind this issue is the mass advances to technology. People are continuing to become completely dependent on their technological devices. Various activities can be performed on apple products that are keeping most people content in their homes. Entertainment in our day is usually only accomplished with the use of our newly aged electronic devices. Not nearly as much people are outside having fun with physical activity anymore. Not only are people becoming obese, but they aren’t as truly educated anymore as well. Portable devices such as the iPhone provide easy and instant access for people to search information on the internet. Most people today depend on web answer services for the information they desire. This is especially a major problem in most schools, for people are constantly depending on the internet for assignments and even for cheating on tests. Technology will continue to flourish within our country and the people will continue to increase in laziness and unhealthiness.
America is a country made up of many different people. People have different views on things such as politics and religion. People come here to achieve the "American Dream". The identity of America has been a place known for people who want to achieve their goals and have a great life. In America people are free to say and believe what they want. Although many of these great things still exist the American identity has declined. The country is a mess with trillions of dollars of debt and lots of unemployment. Despite these issues, people from all over the world still come to America to acheive their dreams. Even throughout tough times America will always be a great country where many people dream of living.
Nobody defines me better than America does! I'm many different nationalities, but it doesn't make a difference to me what people look like on the outside because what's on the inside really counts. I'm a part of the tech savvy generation, and it's a really beneficial time era. We are very lucky to have resources at our fingertips, and news channels to watch so that we are kept up with the current events.
Americans cannot be defined like people from other countries. We are categorized together because of where we live and our freedom privileges, but beyond that each of us remain very different. The American identity will forever remain as a group of individuals. My gender or color of my skin does not define me, but the way I present myself and take care of myself. The place I grew up does not define me, but the memories I cherish from there. The make-up of my family does not define me, but the love I have gained and lessons I have learned from them. My generation does not define me, but what I make of it. What defines me is my thoughts, opinions, attitude, viewpoints, actions, and heart.
Every day America, and its people are changing in one way or another. Our country is the best in the world because of the people who keep it going each and every day. The ever changing American identity is due to the drive and determination to always fight a little harder and push a little further. My fear, however, is that the influx of government dependency is going to further change our country, but this time down a slippery slope that none of us want to go down. Our ancestors came to this country hundreds of years ago to make a new name and a new identity for themselves. Americans are tough and crazy; we fight for what we believe and demand nothing short of greatness. If something is wrong, we’ll fix it, if something isn’t right, we’ll change it. I think that that portion of the American identity will never change, even with all the technology and distractions we have in the era we currently live in.
The American identity sis in reality determined on the physical attributes that all original assumptions are based off of. Although some of us would beg to differ we can at least all agree on the fact that most of society's initial identity is based on looks, whether it is color, gender, style, voice, persona, etc. Then again the classic American identity is the perfect marriage, two-car garage, 2 kids, and the puppy but in today's society all outlooks on "classic" have changed. With the economy and society changing everyday better and worse, people’s views on their own self changes. The American identity can only be determined by oneself I believe for the view from others may be altered based off of reality.
This last presidential election really shows that America is drastically changing. Elections are now based on reaching out to certain groups of people and for the first time ever, the Latino vote was the key vote to win the election. This shows that America is moving away from its old view and becoming what it set out to be. A diverse place that is a shining example of how different people can live peacefully with each other. While we have struggled at keeping this dream alive at times, I think that America is quickly becoming an increasingly tolerant country. The best example of this is the two time election of a black president.
