If you had the ultimate political power to change ( 3 ) things in our society (scientific, global, social, etc.), what would they be?
How would you implement these changes? Explain your answers.

if i had the ultimate political power the three things that i would change in our society would be: 1) our use of violence and war to solve our issues, 2) our hostility towards eachother and others across the world, and 3) our destroying of our natural resourses and our dependance on these resourses. I yould implement these changes by setting strict standards and laws with great punishments for people that break these laws. i feel that if these changes were made our world can become a much better and peaceful place to live, for all of us.
If I had the ultimate power to change three things in our society, I'm not exactly sure I'd be able to choose on my own. I'd have to select a group of people who would help point out our society's largest problems, organize them in order from most to least important, and then I'd involve the rest of the people in society to decide what would benefit them most. To have ultimate power, which would come with utmost respect and glory, would be far too stressful and not fair to everyone else. This is not very appealing to me.
If i had political power to change or society three things i would change are: I guess globally i would try to create world peace, (which im sure most people would also) the problem is that it can't really be implemented because it would be very difficult to enforce and there is always someone who breaks the rules and ruins it for everyone else. I would also implement a law prohibiting any wasteful use of our natural resource. Also i would change society so that families won't have a parent or even two parents that have to work 2 or 3 jobs just to pay the bills. I'm not sure how to implement this, other than to tax others, but its not fair to tax people that don't ahve to work three jobs.
If I could change three things about our society, one would be an end to discrimination and unfairness. Everyone in our society should be given a chance to succede, and with discrimination this would not be possible. To do this people would have to be vigilant for discriminating behvior, and punishments would be severe. Another thing I would change is how our society is becoming more and more concerned with material things. These aren't the most imortant things in life for people to concern themselves with. People should care more about helping those who are less fortunate. This could be accomplished by setting up more charities, and increasing taxes to support government funded programs. The final thing that I would change is the amount of violence that exists in the world. To do this there would be stricter gun control laws, bans on the types of weapons countries can produce, and an increased emphasis on diplomacy.
If i had the ultimate political power to change 3 things in society i would have racism towards others come to an end, dependency on unrenewable fuel sources lessened, and hostility towards other countries come to an end. I would implement these changes by writing up bills and such since i will have ultimate political power.
If I had the ultimate political power to change three things in our world I would greatly alter our current foreign policy, take more caution when dealing with fossil fuels and nonrenewable resources, and try and fix the economic crisis in America. To make these changes I would change the way America interacts with the issues of foreign nations, make everyone aware of ways that can protect the environment (and try to enforce them), and I would alter the ways businesses are acting.
If I had ultimate political power, I would find a bunch of people to help me decide what needs to be changed. I do not think that I am politcally or worldly aware enough to make big decisions about things that need to be changed. Society would benefit a lot more if I stepped aside and allowed other people that are much more informed than I am to implement change. I would want to have some say in things though.
If I had the ultimate political power to change things in our society, I would change increase minimum wage because it is hard for families or even teenagers ti survive with the current 7.15 rate. Also, I would make it so that every company had a union so it was harder for people to get fired. I would also make smoking illegal. I would implement these changes by setting up a case where I could present Congress with a lecture to persuade them to agree with me and see where I'm coming from.
If I had the power to changethings in our society, they would include the following.First off I would forget about all this global enviroment paranoia. People are going a little too bit over the top with it. We have enough oil to suit us, were just not destributing it at a large enough quanity. Second, scientific...the only thing I could possibly think of is a better advance in technology as thats always helpful. Last off, socially I think were alright. The only thing we may have a problem with is abortion and gay rights. But we'll get to that later....
To start off, I'm not very fond of our government. I mean, yes my dad is in the air force, but maybe that is why I feel the way I do. I think that it is wrong to have control over people's lives. Me saying this probably brings up many issues, like well America is free, and it's much better to live here than other countries, but in my opinion we aren't that free. A person can go to war at 18, can vote on our future president (to a point because of how our electoral system is, we really don't have much say) can get married, decide whether or not to graduate/continue schooling, but can't pick up a cigarette or beer. At 16 you can put other people's lives in your hand behind the wheel, but you can't see an R rated movie. Do you realize how this government thinks is bizarre at times? Must we regulate all these things? I mean if you look at countries with no drinking age do you see binge drinking and alcohol poisoning? The temptation is what causes these negatives. By someone saying that you can't do this or that , it just makes you want to do it more. Also I think that its not up to the government to say who can and can't marry, and whether or not you should be able to have an abortion. I would leave more decisions up to the people of the country, not just their leaders.
American people are so different, we think the world revolves around us. In other countries children are taught multiple languages, in which they speak fluently. In my case I took Spanish for 3 years, and wouldn't be able have a conversation unless it was about colors, numbers, or the weather. If I could change this I would. I would make sure that students were well rounded, knowing different languages, and geography. When even Miss America can't figure out geography, you know theres a problem.
Also I would try to get the US out of debt. I would not give the wealthy such big pay raises. I would find a way to lower taxes and raise minimum wage. If I increased 'sin taxes' on cigarettes, alcohol, and other substances it would probably work. I would also make marijuana legal. This would allow for more taxes/money to come in. I think that marijuana is just as harmful as cigarettes and alcohol, which are legal. Why not make pot legal to, and let the government make money off of it.
If I had the ultimate power to change things in society, I would want to enforce world peace instead of heading to war with other countries. I would also want to help areas with poverty around the world. It would be nice to have a world where you dont have to worry about terrorism and violence when people could work out their problems by talking.
If I had ultimate political power to change 3 things in the world, they would be getting rid of all the debt that our country has, stoping all wars and future wars and to get rid of our dependence on oil. I would get rid of our debt because it would boost our economy and turn us around. I would stop wars because people kill other people for stupid reasons that can be solved easily.
If I had ultimate power and could do whatever I saw fit, I would implement many changes into our society. For example I would establish a national healthcare system because thousands of people die just because they don’t have a job that allows them to make enough to purchase healthcare. Another important change is that we need to stop all this money being thrown at the war in Iraq. Next is the economy is currently in a depression and I think that we need to stimulate the economy, mostly by decreasing the credit that is given out to people, that will hopefully increase the value of the dollar and help the economy. I would also like to streamline the way that the government spends money and decrease taxes. Hopefully these changes will bring us back to the golden state in America.
1) Eliminate Title 9 this is a rediculous policy that has halted any type of growth in male sports. It makes males and females equal athletically when in truth there is no comparison between men and women in athletics.
2) Eliminate the graduated income tax. Robin Hood was a criminal, how is a graduated income tax any different than the government acting as Robin Hood.
3)I would take virtually all government restrictions out of most sectors in life. Mainly the business sector where I would allow capatilism to create a perfect world, also in private life where it's unfair there is a smoking and drinking age, the government has no right to tell an individual what they can or can't eat or drink it should be an individuals choice.
Because there are so many problems in our society that I wish I could be able to fix, if I had ultimate power and could only choose three to fix, I would want to choose broad issues that would benefit a lot of people. First, I would enforce laws that would benefit the environment, such as lawas outlawing pollution, overconsumption, and destruction of natural resources, and laws protecting certain ecosystems. The environment has taken such a huge toll from human activities that it is very important that changes are made before it gets past the point where it can be fixed. Next, I would want to find a way to improve the economy so that things such as corporate greed and corruption would be significantly reduced. Also, I think it is unfair that upper-class people have it easier (i.e. tax cuts), while a lot of middle-class people, who work very hard to earn their money, do not have such advantages. Last, I would want to make the world more politically stable, and more peaceful. I realize this is something that is extremely difficult to achieve, but I'm sure that if I had ultimate political power, there would be a way it could happen.
If i had the ultimate political power to change three things in our society they would be: 1) create a test making only the politically informed able to vote 2) make texting allowed in all schools 3) and fully resolve the situation in Iraq using military force
If I had the ultimate political power to make 3 important changes in our society, the first would be to find an alternative to gas that is cheaper and more efficient for our vehicles. The next thing I would change is the value of minimum wage. It is nearly impossible for anyone to live on this small paycheck. There is no way that anyone could live comfortably or support a family and it is an issue that must be delt with. The third thing that I would change is our dependence on our natural resources. I would have a team of professionals come together to find alternatives to the scarcest of our resources so if a disaster were to ever occur, we would be prepared to live without them.
If I had the ultimate political power I would 1) eliminate political parties as they, 2) make sure tax dollars are put to good use and 3) eliminate government corruption. I feel that these 3 topics are esstenial to improving our country in everyway.
If I could change three things in our society I would eliminate discrimination, create peace between countries and I would try to get our nation out of debt. It would be difficult to do this, but those would be my goals for society.
If I had the ultimate political power to change three things in our society it would include the following: our use of inefficient, costly, and enivormentally harmful ways of energy, our constant use agression and violence to solve problems, and certain individuals' demeaning and superior views of and attitudes towards the less fortunate. Although it would be difficult to really implement any of the above mentioned changes, the easiest would probably be the first. Although it is also costly, we could end our dependence on foreign oil and turn to much more environmentally friendly methods such as solar energy. I'm not sure if there will ever be a way to end aggression altogether but we could certainly begin by ending the war in Iraq. I feel very strongly about the third change I mentioned but I'm not sure if we could ever put an end to such a universal mentality.
If I had ultimate politcal power to change three things in society they would be gas prices, fuel efficiency and energy smart services and have peace between everyone. I think its a good idea to have more fuel efficiency vehicals and energy smart resources sot that people have less to pay for. This would help people because even though the gas prices are skyrocketing and cant be controlled too much because its scarce. if we had fuel efficiency cars then most people wouldnt have to pay for as much gas because they would run off of electricity. i would like to estabilish peace between everyone so that no one has to live in fear. if we all got along, every country and people within our own coutry then there would be no reason for people to worry about terrorism and violence.
If i had ultimate political power... things would be great, there would be NO ABORTTIONS unless it was due to rape so for those of you who feel like gettin it on w.o a rubber... good luck. The second thing i'd change would be our energy dependance on foreighn countries, i'd drill in america and i'd use other sources fo energy such as wind, solar hyrdogen etc. the third thing i'd change is the way we handle the war in the middle east. at this point i say screw the UN because its corrupted and the UN system is a failure because when Iraq refuses to let anyone look in their country for Nukes 3 times... thats gotta say somethign but OH NOO the UN cant go in untill we are given propper permission... and untill Sadam had enough time to hide the Nukes.. they were there in '98... where'd they go???
If I could change 3 things, they would seem a little unreasonable, but i would 1) want to create peace among everyone. this would mean: no wars or weapons so people would have to solve things through discussion and agreement. 2) i would end our dependency on foreign oil and the whole world, not just the US would become energy efficient. this means: electric cars, planes, buses, and trains. wind and solar powered energy. an end on dependents on natural gases. and no more use of non-recyclable objects. 3) i would end all destruction of natural habitats for unnecessary reasons. this means: no more cutting down of trees for strip malls and such. i would limit our destruction of animals for unnecessary items. and watch what we kill for food, most of us Americans don't need all the food we eat anyway, trust me. and while I'm along the lines of food, i would ruin all businesses that trick their consumers into buying their horribly unhealthy food, life threatening cigarettes, and lower the drinking age so teenagers don't feel the need to binge drink and then do stupid shit like, oh, drive!
