Your "Dream" Future

If you could choose anything....."skies the limit".....for your future career path, what would you choose? Explain the potential obstacles that might stand in your way of attaining this "dream." How does your "dream" differ from your current path? If so, why?

My "Dream Future" is to become a psychiatrist and open up my own practice. Now, I am majoring in education. I would love to have a PHD, but I need to think about my future. If I want to have kids, or even a life, this dream job requires many hours, and very few hours at home. I was torn between these two career choices, and thinking it out, a teacher would be best for me.

If I could have my "Dream Future" my plan would be to come out of Loyola University and immediately be able to obtain a teaching job as an elementary school teacher in Smithtown Central School District. I would want to get married a year after my first year of teaching, and be able to go on many vacations with my husband. After those few years I would like to teach for a couple more years and then begin to start a family. After my family is started my dream would be to stop working for a while and be a "typical stay at home mom". However this dream is extremly unrealistic because the way the economy is today I dont think ill be able to obtain my teaching job as quickly as I would like, and I think I will need to work my whole life to help to support my family.

It has always been my dream to be employed along "Broadway" in New York City. I've always wanted that curtain call, that round of applause, and that ensured adrenaline rush that performance always gives me. Over time, dreams tend to change, not fade, just mature. Although I would still love to dance before an audience of thousands, my passion for helping others has taken flight. I would love to be a physical therapist and help those regain mobility, who have lost it and see life differently without it. Having mobility is somehting that every single individual takes for granted. It's true when it's said, that we don't know what we have until it's gone. Being a physical therapist will give me the oppurtunity to help people who need their mobility. There are many years of school and difficult classes that come hand in hand, with this dream of mine. And even though I know they'll be hard obstacles to over come, in the end I will know that it was all well worth the struggle. Currently, I value my own mobility. I'm so appreciative to be able to move, just like any other dancer would be. In the future, I plan on helping people who no longer have that freedom. Even though these paths are slightly different from each other, one helps the other. You need to be appreciative in life for what you have to be able to help others. With some hardwork in school, and dedication, I know that this dream can become my reality.

My "Dream Future" in some hypathetical world where anything is possiable would be graduating from Harvard Medical school and becoming cheif of general sugery at any hospital on the west coast, preferably california. I would like to marry the love of my life and have a family with him shortly after. This life would be impossiable because medical school would be a real reach right now and i could never work in a hospital and have the amount of family time i would want. My caree choise now is majoring in education and possibly becoming a math teacher somewhere in california. They are way different but this seems like a better choice for me.

I have always been torn between two fields, medical and fashion. In ways medicine help everyone and intellectually i believe i am capable of mastering that field. However, fashion is what i want to do. If i could have everything, I would do both. I would be some form of a doctor like a nutritionist although I would love to be a surgeon, and own my own store. The money would be an issue when it came to paying for the school for medicine and starting my own business, but I would be able to support myself. Never the less i am going to follow my heart and go into the fashion field because i do feel that i am talented in that field. Perhaps I can find a way to help people through the fashion world...

In my "dream future", I am an occupational therapist. I would come out of my grad work and obtain a job in a hospital working with children who lack their fine motor skills, whether due to injury or illness. I am aware of how much work it would take to have such a career but I am willing to do it because I am determined to have a job in the medical field and helping people.

My "Dream Future" as of right now would be just to get into a good school. When I get into the school, it would be nice to major in Actuarial Science. If i majored with this degree, I would be very happy. Not only because it pays really good, but because it is a low stress, interesting job. When i got out of school with this degree, i would love to get a job in the city with a big insurance or financial firm. I
would like a family, but im not sure when.

I wouldn't mind ending up as the mad scientist. My dream future would be pursuing degrees in electrical engineering, physics and astronomy, or mathematical physics. I guess I would want to work in a fancy lab, conference around the world, and all that cool stuff. While we are still in the dream future, I would also like a Ferrari. The obstacles would be finding opportunities to work at the labs and such along with other obstacles like miles per gallon.

My "Dream Future" is to become the General Manager of the New York Mets. I am going to go to college and major in business management and minor in accounting. After I get my bachelors degree, I would like to get an internship with the Mets. I hope that eventually I will build up in the Company and eventually become General Manager. I want to become the General Manager of the Mets because I have a passion for the sport of baseball. My favorite baseball team is also the New York Mets. I love to play fantasy baseball, which gives me a small sense of what it is like to be a General Manager.

My dream is to be a best selling author. For college though, I am majoring in elementary education. I have always the inspiration to teach and a love for children but writing will always be closer to my heart. If i were to pursue this dream, I would be working endless hours without a steady paycheck and would constantly be crossing my fingers hoping my work would be good enough for publication. Having a life that involves a husband and even kids would be hard to keep with that career so instead im choosing the path of teaching and giving into my second love of life.

If I could do anything it would be to play soccer professionally over in Europe. I love soccer and everything about it. There are tons of kids my age and younger who dedicate everything to make it pro and that causes a major obstacle. Also, the level of soccer in america is far below many countries in Europe and that hurts my chances of making it big. Right now if I were to try and make it pro I would really try and go to europe and get into an academy or something, but I'm going to college for a business degree.

My "Dream future" would be to someday become a elementary or middle school, school phycologist. But i know that there are very few open jobs for that position and with the economy in the state that it is i might have to reconsider my future if i want to be sucessful.

If I could have my "Dream Future", I'd choose to go to a good business school, possibly Binghamton University. When I graduate, I'd start a local business, possibly selling food or sport items. The major problem with reaching this dream is that starting a business is a major risk and I might not have enough money to be able to even start it.

My dream job would have to be a Coast Guard pilot. I think this would be one the most exhilarating jobs. It would also be highly rewarding, and driven with a sense of comradery. There are many obstacles that already stand in my way of potentially achieving this goal. One it would be highly recommended to attend the Coast Guard academy, which I don't have the grades to get accepted in to. Right now I'm planning on becoming a school psychologist, which is a pretty straight edge job. I think its probably better suited for me in the end, because it's not as physically demanding as being a Coast Guard pilot.

My dream future would be to have a job that wouldn't require me to do the same thing every day. I would want every day to be different and exciting. One day, I want to have a family and kids, however I wouldn't want to do that too soon. I want to be able to see the world first and one professtion that I am interested in is being a Nurse without borders.

My "dream future" is to wake up everyday and smile. I become an elementary school teacher and love all my students. I would marry the love of my life and after a year or 2 have my first child. I would have 2 kids, boy and girl. My daughters name has to be Summer or that is not my future dream. I would also teach dances at studios and in the city on the side. I would be able to do what i love to do and wouldn't have it any other way.

I would want to become a biologist or physicist and make breakthroughs in the lab. I'm not sure if I'm good enough or if it pays well enough to make a living on, so my current path is to major in science and if I don't do well in the lab then get my teaching certification and become a high school teacher.

My dream future would start by going to a good school. I would like to get a degree from that school in business or sports management. Some sort of Sports management would be the ideal field of work for me because I am interested in the business field and I have a real passion for sports.

My "Dream Future" would be to graduate the Coast Guard Academy and have degree in either Engineering or Government. I would then want to become a lawyer and continue to serve with the military through JAG. Then after serving with the military, work for a law firm in New York City. I am still unsure whether I want to pursue being a lawyer or an engineer. I know that this dream is difficult to achieve but with dedication it is possible.

If I were to be told that I can choose anything that I want to in life, I would choose to help people. I have always been the person who people would come to if they need help or if they have any questions. I'm a very approachable person and I listen to what everyone has to say. In this respect, I would love to become a Pediatric nurse. I feel like there are so many avenues available in the field of nursing and I feel like I would be an asset to anyone who would need help. I can't think that there will be obstacles in the way of me attaining my dream because I feel like there is no such thing as an obstacle. In my eyes, you just need to work harder in order to prove to yourself that you are a strong individual. My dream differs from my current path because I am completing my senior year in high school and I'm working on receiving my high school diploma. I am preparing myself for the rigors of nursing by taking advanced science classes. I don't see my dream as something that differs so much from my current path.

My future dream is to become involved in the art world whether it be working in flim or working in graphic design. I also want to travel the world, mostly europe and study art there. Some of the obstacles that i might face are that it's really hard to be recognized as an artist and there are many struggling artists today and if i want to have a family it would be hard to drag two small children around europe.

I would love to own my own business...like a flower shop or an arts and crafts store. The only thing is that things like that take so much time and effort. And more than wanting my own business, I want to start a family and have children. Maybe my "dream" is one that could come true later on in life.

My dream job would be to own my own childcare center for families with low income. I don’t believe that there are enough suitable places for young children to go when their parents have to work if their parents don’t have a lot of money. It would be really hard to achieve this because in order to make the place nice, you need a lot of money, but can’t expect to make much of it back, therefore it would be hard to pay back all of the bank loans. This a lot different than the career path I am heading towards because right now I am working on becoming an account. I am hoping that after working a few years as an account I will have enough money to start my own childcare center, but maybe not one that’s not for profit just yet.

My dream job would be becoming a professional dancer. My dream is to be a star dancer in movies, music videos, t.v shows like Dancing With The Stars or even on So You Think You Can Dance. I love to dance for an audience and the only way I would be able to be happy waking up everyday is if I could accomplish this goal. However, chances of me making it big in the artsy world are slim to none... it's not that I don't believe in myself and I'm not saying it could never happen but by the time it could happen I could already have a family and a comfortable life if i were to choose a different career. Right now my current path and my ideal path aren't too different. I'm going to shoot for that goal but if it winds up looking like too long of a path then i'm going to switch occupations... it all depends on how hard i work

My dream job is to become an entertainment lawyer. Im interested in law and entertainment so i think this job would suit me well. It would be more interesting than some other jobs that are offered in law. However, the entertainment industry is mostly based out of california which would probably require me to move. It would also involve going to law school after college. If I want to be able to start my life, this job may involve too much time in school along with a very big move. I think I want to major in adverstising in college because it is still creative and interesting and maybe I will end up going to law school in the future if it will fit into what I want from my life in four years from now. Im not sure where or what I want to be in the future with my career, so I guess my "dream Life" would just be living my life not knowing where it will take me or what I will do next.

If I could do anything in the world, have my ideal dream job I would be a criminal attorney. I would love to defend people for the crimes they may have not committed. The only thing is that this takes a lot of time and many years of school. But, I have always dreamed of having a family, a big one. And with all the hours that I would have to put it to work, its going to get difficult.

My future "dream" career is to be an occupational therapist and open up my own practice. In order to acheive this goal I will need to attend seven years of school and do internships. My current path is headed towards my goal because of the colleges that I am choosing to apply to. The courses I will need to take are going to be tough, but when I set my mind to something I get it done so I do not see any issues with acheiving this goal.

My "Dream Future" would be to become a Pediatrician and to run my own practice. I plan on studying pre-med/biology in College. With a good education and job I'd like to have a family in the future. I'd prefer to live either on Long Island or further out east. With this profession I can proivde for my family, although it will be many hours and endless days spent working in the end it will all be worth it. I'd also like to minor in psychology because it is interesting but not what I want to practice.
